  Every kid I have ever met has a fascination with flashlights.  Big or small, dim or bright, flashlights are just fun.  No matter how many times I try to remind them, though, the same thing always happens.  In their fun exploration and desire to same their experience with me, inevitably the light is always shown right into my eyes.  Instead of sharing their view, I squint and turn away, shimmering spots still lingering in my vision. When we just can’t do it – reaching our limit

I’ve noticed an interesting stage in toddler development.  It is after they have learned how to stand and walk, but have yet to master the skill of jumping.  I’ve watched them as they intently study another older child jumping and do their best to imitate them.  Feet together, bend your knees and push.  Only in the toddler, their little push just makes them stumbling forward a little instead of leaving the ground.  Have you ever felt that same way?  That no matter how hard you try, you just can’t quite do it?  There is something you are trying to be, yet when it comes down to it, you can’t leave the ground?
